January 2-|January 13th

Happy New Year Everyone! I hope everyone is well and enjoying the last few days of the Winter Break.

If your child has been able to complete “Jobs” from the holiday duotang that all students received to take home and work on during the break… please return it to school as I would enjoy reading them.

January 9th weekly words (  Working with words)

group 1- brave, calm, clear, leap, help

group 2- brave, calm, clear, leap, help, heard, aware, write, travel, caring

group 3- before, stories, greedy, exactly, frighten, competition, astonish, icicle, decision, impressed

Math- This week we will be continuing to work on addition and subtraction- numbers to 18 using different strategies to solve.

Literacy- Writing – Printing, Grammar, Spelling,

Reading- increasing Reading strategies, fluency, confidence

Social Studies- Traditions and Celebrations up to this point – Thanksgiving, Halloween, Remembrance Day, Kawanza, Christmas, Chinese New Year, as well as continuing to work on Our Family Unit

I hope you enjoyed your child’s elf card as well as their gift to you-  apple sauce and cinnamon ornaments! 🙂
